How to Set Up Family Sharing

How to facilitate family sharing across the Apple product line

Are your family’s devices set up in Family Sharing?

With kids at home, many of them are glued to iPhones and iPads. This draws the concern of how many hours your child is staring at their screen? Are they spending your money on in-App purchases?

Family Sharing gives you the control to manage age restrictions, appropriate content, and limit screen-time.

Family Sharing allows up to six family members to share Apple services like Apple Music, Apple Books, Apple TV+, and Apps. As a parent, you can easily set time limits per App and utilize Downtime to ensure time away from their screen. Take control of what can be purchased in the App Store by enabling “ask to buy” and our favourite option BLOCK IN APP PURCHASES.

In three easy steps you have the option to enable “ask to buy”, block in-app purchases, limit age related content and control screen-time. Yes we limit our kids’ screen time.

Step 1 On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, click on your name.

Step 2 Tap setup Family Sharing, follow the on-screen instructions to set up your family and add family members.

Step 3 If you’re on iOS 11 or later, choose the first feature you’d like to share. Then follow the instructions to invite your family members using iMessage.

If you have any questions, give us a call 780-709-3881 or email.
